Claude Collins Hospitality Scholarship

The Claude Collins Hospitality Scholarship recognizes deserving students who are pursuing further education in the hospitality industry.  

NFHLA awards two different types of scholarships: 

1)    Hospitality or Culinary program at Florida State College of Jacksonville (FSCJ)

• Student must be enrolled at FSCJ in a hospitality or related field.
• Student mush have at least at 3.0 cumulative GPA
• The scholarship is awarded twice year in the amount of $1,000
• If awarded the scholarship, the funds will be deposited into the students tuition account (this scholarship can only be used towards tuition)

Please include the following information:

• NFHLA application for FSCJ scholarship
  Florida State College at Jacksonville application
• Official transcript
• Formal resume
• Two written letters of recommendations one from a supervisor and/or faculty member or instructor
• On an additional sheet, please answer the following question: Where do you see your professional career after completion of you program/degree?

 2)    Continuing Education

• This is a tuition reimbursement scholarship awarded to hospitality employees who are seeking further education in their respective field.
• Students can attend a certification program, state college or university in the state of Florida.
• Student must receive a B or higher in the classes or pass the certification exam to be awarded the scholarship.
• The scholarship is awarded twice year in the amount of $500.
• The student must have been an employee for at least one year at a NFHLA member place of business.

Please include the following information:

• NFHLA Application for continuting education
• Formal resume
• A written letter of recommendation from immediate supervisor
• Letter from HR or Manager stating where the student is employed, length of time and hours/shifts per week.
• On an additional sheet, please tell NFHLA about your future aspirations in the hospitality industry

Applications must be submitted with all supporting documentation by October 1 (for the Spring semester) and July 1 (for the Fall semester). Only complete applications will be considered by the NFHLA Board of Directors. Preference will be given to employees at a NFHLA property or allied member business.
